What is it?

Genius is demonstration of the creative potential of the personality. Traditionally it is reflected in the new and unique creations and masterpieces with the delay being recognized the masterpiece. Sometimes genius is defined by the new and unusual method approach to the creative process.
In fact genius is the cultural phenomenon of the human essence. Joey Adams said that a genius was one who could do anything except make a living. And not less interesting words about geniuses and the effects of their late recognition are the words of R.W. Emerson: "Great geniuses have the shortest biographies. Their cousins can tell you nothing about them."
As a rule genius gives much more efficient ideas and they develop faster than their contemporaries that reach recognition in the same sphere of knowledge. Since the Renaissance the general view on the point of genius was considered as the special type of inspiration that make people use new methods in crafts. Since then there is the opinion that genius demands the universal interests of extraordinary personality.
The influence of the teacher is usually admitted as the important point but self-education was always the main structural element of the genius personality. In 20th century the phenomenon of genius becomes the object of numerous sociological and physiological investigations. The most famous manifestations of genius are observed in the scientific and artistic creativity.
